HOW TO CREATE YOUR BLANKET:
STEP 1) Obtain a sharp, high resolution image of the art or photo you want to use.
This is probably the most challenging step for most folks, as images pulled from Facebook or from text messages are often too small for us to use. Small file sizes lead to blurry, pixellated results, which makes it impossible for us to weave nicely. The minimum file size is 500kb, but ideally it should be between 1 and 5 MB (unless it's a 'vector' file; if it is, you'll know).
After we've received your image with your order, we'll make any required minor corrections and email you a mock-up image of the blanket that you've ordered. Your card will not be charged until you sign off on the mock up.
How to create a digital image file from an existing physical art piece or a printed photo:
The easiest way is to scan your photo or artwork on a flatbed scanner, if the image will fit. (If you've never scanned an image before, check out this tutorial.) If the image is too large to be scanned or if you don't have a scanner, then take a clear, well-lit, very sharp photo of it with a good quality smart phone or digital camera, taking care to avoid reflections in the image, and then use that image as the upload file on this order page.
STEP 2) Place your order!
On this page -
- Choose your size (the medium 50" x 60" is our most popular; the large 60" x 80" will cover a queen sized bed)
- Answer the " Would you like custom lettering on your blanket?" question. If you choose 'Yes', your words will be carefully and thoughtfully laid over your image, in a position that doesn't detract from the main focus.
- Upload your photo or image file.
- Select how you want the photo oriented on your blanket - vertically or horizontally.
- Confirm that you own the copyright to the image, or have permission from the owner for this purpose.
- Click the "Add to Cart" button and follow the checkout prompts. You can order multiple copies of your blanket on the next shopping cart page.
What happens next?
- We'll check your image and make any minor changes as required. We'll contact you if we have any problems processing your image.
- We'll email you a digital mock-up of your blanket, where you will see exactly how your design is laid out. Please be sure to read our FAQ's about how colors are interpreted in our weaving process.
- After we receive your emailed approval of your design we'll charge your payment method and send your custom blanket to production. For that reason, coupled with our satisfaction guarantee, your order is 100% risk free.
- Your blanket is woven by our master weavers, checked by our quality control team, and shipped to you via USPS Priority Mail (your order includes free shipping throughout the lower USA!). You'll receive an email from us with your tracking number when it ships, usually within 7 to 10 business days of your blanket going into production.
